Tibetan deities of Citipati.
The Sitipati are the Lords of Cemeteries. In one of their previous incarnations, they were ascetic spouses, tantric yogins practicing in cemeteries. One day they entered deep meditation, and having lost touch with their physical bodies, they did not notice that the thief cut off their heads and threw their torsos into the mud. They have turned into angry spirits of death, known as Sri Sitipati, whose main function is the guardianship of cemeteries and places of heavenly burial, as well as the protection of Tantric practitioners, especially those who practice in cemeteries.
