Freya seeking her husband.
Freja Seeking her Husband by Nils Blommer.
In Scandinavian paganism, Freya is a goddess associated with love, beauty, fertility, sex, war, gold. Freya is the owner of the Brisingamen necklace, rides a chariot drawn by two cats, she is accompanied by a wild boar Hildiswini, and she has a cloak of falcon feathers. Freya helps other deities by allowing them to use her feathered cloak, is invoked in matters of fertility and love, and is often sought by powerful jotuns who want to make her their wife. Freya's husband, the god Od, is often absent. She is crying tears of red gold and is looking for him. A reproduction by the Swedish artist Nils Blommer.
