Anubis God of the Dead - Egyptian Mythology Print

Anubis is an ancient Egyptian deity shown as a man with the head of a jackal, or sometimes as a jackal itself. He was connected with cemeteries, burial rites, and the journey of the dead into the afterlife.

In ancient Egyptian religion, Anubis was also associated with mummification and the judgment of the dead. In later traditions he was linked with Osiris and helped care for his body after death. The jackal and dog were animals closely associated with him.
