Pandemonium is a dramatic painting by the English artist John Martin, created in 1841. It shows a dark and fiery vision of Hell, with a vast infernal city, burning ground, smoke, and a gloomy apocalyptic atmosphere.

The name Pandemonium is associated with the capital of Hell and with the idea of chaos, sin, and the underworld. John Martin’s painting turns this theme into a powerful and memorable image full of fire, darkness, and monumental architecture.
